Dr. Stevie Puckett

"It is my belief that children are incredibly resilient and competent and, if helped to discover their own strengths and innate abilities, can blossom into their very best selves. It is my joy to help children and families in that discovery process."

Dr. Puckett-Perez is a Licensed Psychologist specializing in child and adolescent psychology. She identifies as a pediatric psychologist by trade and training, meaning that she has specialized skill in providing services to children and teens who have acute, chronic, or complex medical conditions. In addition to private practice, much of Dr. Puckett-Perez's work has been in the hospital setting. 
 
Education & Training
Dr. Puckett-Perez received  her Ph.D. in psychology from Texas A&M University, with emphasis on pediatric health and school psychology. During her time at Texas A&M she completed numerous child practicum experiences, including work with pediatric cancer patients at M.D. Anderson's Cancer Center, middle school aged students in a local school district, autism assessment patients at a rehabilitation center, and children and teens in need of counseling at a community based counseling center. She completed her pre-doctoral internship/residency in Pediatric Health Psychology at Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. There, she provided therapeutic and assessment services  to chronically ill children in the hospital, medical clinic, and counseling clinic settings.  Dr. Puckett-Perez went on to complete her post-doctoral fellowship specialization at Children's Medical Center in Dallas and Plano, where she worked with patients both in specialized medical clinics and patients admitted to the hospital. After her post-doctoral fellowship, Dr. Puckett-Perez accepted a faculty position at Children's, as well as a faculty appointment at UT Southwestern, and went on to open her private practice.

License
Dr. Puckett-Perez is a Licensed Psychologist (LP) in the state of Texas. She also maintains the credential as a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP), which allows her comprehensive testing reports and suggestions for accommodations to be recognized by children's school districts.
